Avid Readers, Occasional Bloggers

Dear Publishers, Publicists & Authors

I am sorry. I falling farther and farther behind in my reviews.  I seemingly have time to read but no time to sit down and review what I read. I have 7 or 8 book reviews I need to write.

I am not making any promises for the next few weeks but I just thought I would offer this mea culpa just to let you know I haven’t forgotten about you.

Best,

Kevin

Blog Fail

Airborne

Remember me?  I am the guy who used to post here.  Sure, I didn’t exactly light up the literary blogosphere (do they still call it that?) but I posted three of four times a week.

This site – when Jeff isn’t on a post binge – has turned into a Twitter Digest page and an archive for old reviews destined for lonely Google searches.  I think the kids would call this Blog Fail or something like that.

So.  Now that I have added my contractually required quarterly navel gazing post what does this even mean?  Good question.

I don’t see my schedule allowing for posting two or three times a day any time soon.  Most likely we are looking at occasional reviews and commentary.

I think what is needed is for me to scale back my ambitions and apply KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).  Less clutter; quality over quantity; etc.

Easier said than done of course, and I have said it more times than I care to remember, but it is the truth.

Here ends the lame site update “what should I do” post.  Feel the need to mock me?  Got a smart aleck remark?  Have a strong opinion?  Leave it in the comments …

Notes and Aisdes: Redux

I am bringing back the “Sideblog” or as I have dubbed it Notes & Asides.  I think it is easier to put links and quick thoughts here rather than waiting for longer posts that more often than not never show up.

CM now available on your PDA

In case any of you wanted to read this fine blog while out and about with your PDA or smart phone, I have installed a WordPress plugin that simplifies the theme for these type of browsers to make it easier for you to do just that.

So if you are stuck in a meeting, waiting for someone, or using public transit point your PDA/Smart phone browser at Collected Miscellany and enjoy.

Drowning in a sea of books

I can’t seem to catch a break in my vow to catch up on book reviews and posting in general here.  I was all set to commence when the tail end of hurricane Ike hit Ohio with wind storms that knocked out power.  I have power now but no internet at home.  And since I use my time at work to mostly, well work, posting hasn’t happened all that much.  So, sorry but it wasn’t my fault!  Just FYI and all that . . .
