Two Decades of Collected Miscellany, Now What?

In a way that seems emblematic of the near demise of this blog, CM turned twenty years old last Friday and I forgot to post about it. Crazy as it sounds, this blog was launched October 27, 2003.

Now, you may be thinking: “Does it really matter, Kevin?” And you would have good reason for thinking that. I haven’t posted anything of substance since June. And outside of that spurt in June and another in January, this blog has mostly been dormant.

In fact, this blog has been on life support for some time.  Recent history brings to mind the Monty Python skit about the dead parrot.

The question remains what to do with it? Despite my seeming inability to keep the blog alive it seems a waste to just let nearly two decades of content just disappear.  But it also seems unwise to pay money for a site that has no new content and attracts a handful of visitors from seeming random Google searches.

I love the simplicity and clean lines of Microblog but at this point I am not sure I have an audience or the energy to build one. So why post at all? That is the question that rattles around in my brain frequently.

I am going to try and use the last couple months of 2023 to try and answer that question. So stay tuned?
