Fortunately, The Milk, is what Gaiman, author of the recent novel for adults, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, calls “the silliest book I have ever written.” When a father runs out to buy milk for his child’s breakfast, he’s abducted by aliens and catapulted on an adventure that transports him through time and space.
In a letter, Gaiman says the book is sure to thrill readers and their fathers, and humorously writes that the book absolves his guilt for his book The Day I Swapped My Dad For Two Goldfish, which essentially depicts dads as “oblivious, newspaper-reading occasionally carrot-eating lumps of distraction.”
