A note about advertising

As you might have noticed I have been playing around with themes and have added some ads to the blog.  I know some people have strong feelings about “monetisation” of blogs; particular arts blogging.  But I will be honest with you, I have two choices: stop blogging or try and make some income from it.

I won’t tell you a long sob story about my personal life, but suffice it to say my career has hit a bit of a bump in the road.  I have no illusions about getting rich writing a blog or anything, but I am hoping I can make witting online a net positive and thus feel good about continuing to put time and energy into it.

I hope the ads are not too intrusive.  And in return for putting up with some ads, I hope to put more time and focus into the site which should mean more and higher quality content.  I think in the marketing business they call that a win-win.

BTW, those of you with an interest in right-of-center politics stay tuned for announcement about another site I am developing.  Many of my literary friends have a different slant on politics than I, so I thought if I wanted to write more about politics I should do that elsewhere.  Niche blogging and all that …

Anyways, I appreciate all of you who do read here regularly and hope you don’t find the changes intrusive.
