Blogs are about sharing personal information, right? This informality makes readers more comfortable and the exchange of ideas easier, at least in theory.
So let me share some personal information with you: I am a terrible driver. I have had multiple car accidents. I even had an accident with a car from work after only being on the job a few weeks (they don’t let me drive anymore).
Why bring this up? Well, I had yet another accident this morning. Just a fender-bender but depressing and annoying. In an effort to make the dark voices in my head stop talking and to give you something to read, I offer the following links:
– Robert Birnbaum has another interview posted, yadda, yadda, yadda . . . No, in all seriousness Mr. Birnbaum does have an interview up at the Morning News with the always interesting, but whose name I still don’t know how to pronounce, Camille Paglia. Read it, all the cool kids are.
– The folks at Boldtype had the Late Summer issue out and it is choke full of stuff. Something like 35 reviews of books, short stories, magazines, and more. Check it out (and sign up for their email if you haven’t already.
– On a sad note, author and blogger Steven Vincent was murdered last night in Iraq. He was murdered for telling the truth about what he saw in Basra. Our prayers are with his family and friends.
Horrible! I’m shocked, though maybe I should have remember Steven’s risk.
