Marlon Brando, R.I.P.

Marlon Brando has died at the age of 80. I am not a film connoisseur by any stretch but Brando was certainly a legend. Who can forget Don Corleone in The Godfather?! I was too young to associate him with On the Waterfront or A Streetcar Named Desire, to me he was always the Godfather with the marbles in his mouth. Hard to believe the first Godfather film came out in 1972. His later years seemed rather tragic and he became more of a caricature than a legend. R.I.P.

BTW, If you are looking for a short bio on Brando the Penguin Lives series features Patricia Bosworth on Brando. It is just over 200 pages and focuses on his acting career rather than the Hollywood gossip.

UPDATE: Terry Teachout discusses Brando and finds him wanting.
